Looking so big starting to sit up

Penelope's curls are really starting to fill in and I obsess over those random ringlets

6 months old (and blurry b/c he doesn't sit still!)

We drove down for an overnight visit in St. Augustine with the cousins!

Silly boy with his paci
I decided to pull Kai out of school for the Thanksgiving week so that we could go to Atlanta the Saturday before to see lots of extended family. Michael wasn't able to be off work for that long so it was just me and the kids making the trek. We had a pretty good trip though we did get in some traffic and had to detour a bit and the one stop we had to make was lengthy and full of adventure. We made it to the gathering and had fun seeing lots of family I hadn't seen in years and the kids had never met. Then we drove the rest of the way to Birmingham with my parents. Kai rode with Dagan, and Nonie rode with me and Penelope and Tate. We were all so tired. Kai ended up getting sick when we arrived. Hopeful at first that maybe he'd just gotten car sick, but that did not turn out to be the case. He was pretty puny all day Sunday and I was a nervous wreck about who would get sick next. But all seemed well. We took it easy Monday but then had play dates with friends on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Playing at Nonie's
Michael started the trip over on Wednesday arriving just before dinner time. We packed up everything from Nonie and Dagan's and moved over to Nanna and DD's house. Had dinner and got everyone in bed kinda late. We had a fun Thanksgiving Day planned… but the stomach bug caught up to us and Penelope and I spent the wee hours of Thanksgiving morning very sick. We opted for getting home as quickly as possible so we got up and got packed on minimal sleep and very weak and made our fastest trip yet to get back home. Even in a familiar place, when you are sick, there is just no place like home.
