Kai now rarely has his quiet play time but every now and then he will earn himself a nap when we can tell he is just really worn out. He loves playing soccer on Saturday mornings and likes to be included in helping with Penelope whenever I can come up with something he can do for me. He is so full of life and some days it is hard to get him to sit still to do anything. He's getting so big and does so many things for himself. His temper that we seemed to bring home from the hospital with us settled down a bit around 6 weeks. I look forward to seeing him interact more with Penelope as she can hold on to toys and when she gets mobile.
Penelope has changed so much! Our schedule didn't stick around too long. The mornings would just start at different times and then the day would depend somewhat on what else we had to do. She smiles more and more and stays awake for longer stretches. She makes some sweet baby gurgle sounds. She's decided baths are not so bad and likes to kick and splash the water. She loves laying and playing on her floor activity mat. I try to put her on her tummy occasionally, but she is wobbly and then just buries her face. Around 8 weeks she dropped her middle of the night feeding and regularly sleeps 7-8 hours at night now. She had woken up around 4am a few mornings and we don't let her cry since she and Kai share a bedroom. She is sleeping in her crib in her room all the time except for the late evening after Kai has gone to bed and she still has one more feeding to go. She usually has her first feeding in the morning now around 7am. She still likes riding in the car but doesn't always fall asleep as fast when riding like she used to. She still refuses the paci most of the time too. She's also been to the nursery at church now several times and has done great!
Not really much to update on Michael and me. We are staying busy, trying to stay well, and getting used to our family of four life. Now for the pictures!
